Before entering the BMO Pet Stars contest, please take a moment to review the key guidelines below. These help keep the contest fair, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

The contest is open to legal residents of Canada who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Participants must be the owner or primary caregiver of the pet being submitted.
Currently, only domestic cats and dogs may be entered into the contest.
Click "Submit Your Pet" in the navigation, fill out the form with your pet's details, upload a photo, and verify your email with a one-time code.
Each participant may submit up to 3 pets during the contest period.
Visitors can vote for their favourite pet once per day. Voting resets daily at 12:00 AM EST, giving every pet a new opportunity to collect votes.
Absolutely! Sharing your pet's page and encouraging votes is allowed and encouraged. However, any attempts to manipulate the voting process using automated tools or fraudulent activity may result in disqualification.
At the end of the contest period, the pet with the highest number of valid votes will be selected as the potential winner. All votes are subject to verification.
The winning pet and owner will receive a professional studio photoshoot, a campaign video featuring the pet and owner, and participation in a BMO Pet Insurance promotional campaign. The prize has no cash value.
Winners will be contacted via the email address provided during submission.
Yes. Photos must be original images owned by the person submitting the entry. Images should clearly feature the pet being entered and must follow the content guidelines.
Photos that include unsafe situations, inappropriate content, or material owned by someone else may not be approved. BMO reserves the right to review and remove entries that do not follow these guidelines.
If two or more pets receive the same number of votes, BMO may determine the winner using additional criteria such as personality, originality, and the story shared about the pet.
The selected winner may also be required to complete eligibility verification and sign media release documents.
